Integrity and attention to detail are essential to the success of any funeral home. Without the trust and confidence of the community, we would never have been here for 87 years. We know that those who work with us are the backbone of our ability to offer the service our community has come to expect. For 16 years, Scott Woodruff had embodied these traits with unwavering and committed service to those we serve.

A 1990 graduate of Iuka High School, Scott worked mostly in construction and law enforcement prior to his career at Cutshall Funeral Home. Scott is a graduate of Southern Regional Public Safety Institute and is a certified law enforcement officer. He served as a Tishomingo County deputy sheriff for six years prior to working at Cutshall Funeral Home for the previous 16 years. On his work at the funeral home, Scott says, “I strive to go above and beyond to provide families with everything they have come to expect from Cutshall services, so families can feel our sympathy and respect, while feeling a part of the service as well.” Scott will soon be a certified crematory operator and will play a lead role in the operation and maintenance of our new crematory.

Scott’s practical knowledge and heart for service were invaluable during the COVID restrictions when he developed and implemented a battery-powered system to provide music and allow funeral attendees to better hear the service at cemeteries while maintaining social distancing outdoors. His efforts were of great benefit to many people during a time when they were struggling to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

Scott resides in the Hazard Switch community of Iuka with his wife of 25 years, Beth Whitaker Woodruff. They have 3 children, Caleb, Victoria, and Anna Belle. He is the son of Joe and the late Shirley Woodruff. Scott loves his family, second only to God, and also loves any and all kinds of music. He has played in local bands for over 30 years. Scott loves to serve the people of his community and says he wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. We wouldn’t want him to work anywhere else either.
