  A family man with a love of the great outdoors, Roger Pounders was born and raised in Iuka. He currently resides in the Midway community with his wife, the former Mechelle Rast. Roger and Mechelle have three children, Tanner (fiancé, London), Hunter (Bayleigh), and Hannah (Titus); and two grandchildren that are the light of their Paw Paw’s life, Kayden, and Oaklee. Roger enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending lots of time with his family.

   Roger worked for many years at a large corporation and says he was content there for most of that time. He has also served as minister for many years with the last few years attending and ministering at New Life Church in Iuka. Roger says, “In 2020, the Lord began to deal with me about retiring from my full-time job. I wondered what it would be like to work for Cutshall Funeral Home because it would be more than a job to me, it would be a ministry. I’m very thankful for this opportunity that I believe God has blessed me with so that I can be a blessing to others in their time of need.”

   Roger has been a rock-solid member of our team since February 2021, and we are so glad that the Lord saw fit to lead him to our organization. In your time of need, you can count on Roger to be there, day or night, with a heart for serving his fellow man and a strong shoulder to lean on. He has been a perfect fit and we hope that he will be here to serve our community for a long time to come.
