James H. Morris, 90, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Monday, November 21, 2022, in his home. For most of his life, he was a truck driver. He was an excellent provider for his family. Every visit from family and friends concluded with an offering of garden vegetables, eggs, fruit, jellies, or any other thing he knew would be useful. His gifts were plentiful, though he would always say, “Ye can’t grow nothin’ on that rocky ground.” He loved being outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, or gardening. In the last 67 years, “Rerun” had not missed a single opening-day of deer season, including this year. He was a member of the Pineflat Sportsmans Club and was also a 50-year member of Burnsville Lodge #233 F&AM. He enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves Baseball, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and countless friends laughing and telling stories. James is survived by his children, Jeanette (Dexter Stanfield), Jackie Morris (Glenda Belue), and Lora Greene (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Robin Glover, Jay Glover (Jessica), Sally Rester (Corey), Jill Roberts (Josh), and Holly Van Meter; his great-grandchildren, Brody, Maryn, and Annika; his brother, Bobby R. Morris (Charlotte); and a host of other friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Daniel Morris; his parents, Millard and Lue Morris; his brother, Milford Morris; his sister, Ruby Bowling; his son-in-law, Bob Glover; and his very close friends, Norman “Jam Up” Kennedy, Tearl White, and Bobby Bullard. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ronnie Goodwin. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery. Pallbearers include Carl Morris, Tommy Morris, Steve Morris, Eddie Morris, David Daniel, and Tristan Daniel. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Pineflat Sportsmans Club and his friends from the Crossroads One Stop.
