Willie James Carter, Sr.

June 13, 1954 — November 6, 2021

Willie James Carter, Sr., 67, of Iuka, MS passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Tishomingo Community Living Center. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and talking to anyone who would listen about the Bible. Willie was a member and a Deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a Mason. He is survived by his daughters, Vanessa Carter and Eva Denise Smith; his sons, James Arthur Terrell Carter and Willie James Carter, II; his sisters, Frankie E. Allen and Lillian Brock; his special brother, Harry Bonds; his grandchildren, Shania Bonae' Carter Bennett, Semaj DJ Carter Caldwell Smith, and Marcus Mitchell; one great grandchild; his special friends, John David Murphy, Melvin Cummings, and Walter James Williams, Sr.; and several beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur King and Sarah Elizabeth Caperton Carter; his wife, Doris Marie Carter; his sisters, Lucinda Martin and Arther Mae Crider; and his brother, Billy King Carter. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11apm until 1pm at First Missionary Baptist Church. Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1pm at First Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Lonnel Perry and Pastor John Taylor. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willie James Carter, II, Lemell Malone, Tony Johnson, Terrell Carter, A.J. Freeman, and Nathan Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Williams, Darnell Davis, John David Murphy, Melvin Cummings, Darnell Tinsley, and the Deacons of First Missionary Baptist Church. Donations may be made in Mr. Carter's honor to First Missionary Baptist Church. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com .
