William J. Brinkley III, “Bill”, 80, resident of Iuka, MS, loving father and grandfather, went to sing with the angels on January 21, 2019. Bill was born in Chattanooga, TN on July 28, 1938, to the late William J Brinkley Jr. and Flora Lee Craddock of Iuka, MS. He spent many of his early and later years living in Iuka at the Brinkley family home also known as “Dunrobin.” Bill was a graduate of Iuka High School in 1957, and William R. Moore School of Technology, Memphis, TN in 1960. He was a talented Eagle Scout and served in the Mississippi Army National Guard. Although he has passed on to be with Our Lord and Savior in Heaven, he leaves behind an unforgettable legacy of faith, love, gentleness and kindness. He had an unwavering passion for Jesus, family, singing, songwriting, engineering, inventing, automobiles and fishing that he shared with his family and friends. He was an amiable gentleman of agreeable manners, upright in all his dealings, faithful to the Lord, and his family, and he will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his brother Frank M. Brinkley and his daughter Sandra M. Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley is survived by four daughters/spouses: Susan M. Rose of Dahlonega, GA, Rebecca L. Murphy & Robin of Derby, KS; Anne K. Payne & Kevin of Union, MS; and Brenda K. Fung & Phillip of Arlington, TN. Also, his sister-in-law Nancy Brinkley and her two children Frank M. Brinkley Jr. and Amy Brinkley Dooley-Speegle. He is also survived by grandchildren Virginia Spencer, Jason Spencer, Sarah Rose, Michelle Altimus, Matthew Young, Emily West, Wesley Allen, Joseph Allen, Jesse Allen, Anthony Allen, Charlie Allen, Michael Hackett, Autumn Payne, Katelyn Payne, Anna Fung, and Ethan Fung. He is also survived by 8+ great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 26, 2019, and funeral service at 3:00 pm with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
