Walter Edward Spiecha

Walter Edward Spiecha, 84, born and raised in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, currently of Cherokee, AL, died on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. After Walter graduated from Carnegie High School, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering from The University of Pittsburgh. He used his degree to start his career at J&L Steel in Pittsburgh, where he remained for over 30 years before retirement. He was a huge sports fan and was an especially big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 1966, Walter and his wife, Barbara, got married in Williamsport, PA. He loved lighthouses and loved to read. Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara “Snoopy” Nau Spiecha of Cherokee, AL; his sons, Robert Spiecha (Joyce) of Collierville, TN, and Dr. Brian Spiecha (Vicki) of Eads, TN; his grandsons, Tanner and Tucker Spiecha of Eads, TN; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Stanley Spiecha, Sr., and his brothers, Stanley, Jr., John, Joe, and Frank Spiecha.
