Verlene Curtis Hodge

Doris Verlene Curtis Hodge, 91, of Covington, TN, formerly of Iuka, MS, died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Covington Care Center in Covington, TN. Verlene enjoyed cooking and listening to music. She liked to crochet and spent a good amount of her time crocheting hats to donate to the children at St. Jude’s and to the people at Room in the Inn Shelter. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her daughter, Gayla Simmons (Larry) of Thompson Station, TN; her son, Hoyt Reid Hodge, Jr. (Tonya) of Covington, TN; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Fleming and Mary Deverell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Reid Hodge, Sr.; and her parents, Fillmore and Eva Long Curtis.
