Van Renie Buchanan, 68, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Van was a jokester and a character that was loved by many. He could usually be found chewing on his cigars and being goofy. Van is survived by his brother, Joseph R. “Jug” Buchanan (Brenda); his nieces and nephews, Amanda Pryce-Jones (David), Debbie Jo Buchanan, Randy Buchanan, and Andrea Buchanan; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cory Buchanan, Tiffany Pryce-Jones, Jonathan Buchanan (Caitlin), Austin Pryce-Jones, Brianna Thompson, Carson Mayhall, Bryson Pryce-Jones, Jaxson Pryce-Jones, Greenlee Buchanan, and Eli Buchanan; his great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Charlee Buchanan, Bentlee Buchanan, Hadlee Buchanan, and Greyson Dengler; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Ruth Buchanan Baker and Joseph Robert Buchanan, Sr.; and his nephew, Tim Buchanan.
