Tommy M. Sanderson

Tommy M. Sanderson, 70, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at North MS Medical Center in Iuka. Tommy was a devout Christian that loved God deeply and found joy in sharing His word with anyone that would listen. He was an incredibly selfless man that helped others without expectation, just wanting everyone to be happy and love each other. His warm personality and talent for making people laugh brought joy to everyone that knew him. Tommy dedicated 27 years to working at Mississippi Polymers as an electrician before retiring. His strong work ethic showed in his everyday life, never being late for anything and always staying busy, whether it was on one of his daily trips to town or making sure his lawn stayed perfect. He was known for his classic style of Polo cologne, matching hats and shirts, and white tennis shoes, which he had a pair of for every occasion. In his free time, he enjoyed watching SEC sports and being on the water. Above everything, however, Tommy loved his family. He and his wife often enjoyed golfing together, always on the same team and never against each other. He and his grandchildren played in the yard or would go fishing, with him having to bait every hook and unhook every fish. He and his siblings would fellowship on the porch, enjoying each other’s company. His favorite memories included having the house full of his family, cutting up and spending time together. He was a proud family man and would do anything for any one of them. 

Tommy is survived by his wife and beloved golf partner, Elizabeth Sanderson; his daughters, Jessica Freeman (Jason), Amanda Garrett (Ronnie), and Cassie Mills (Tanner); his grandchildren, Jackson and Eli Garrett, Tyler, Blake, and Camilla Freeman, Arabella Mares, and Davon and Danica Shelton; his great-grandchild, Nila Garrett; his siblings, Larry Sanderson (Wanda), Claudine Johnson (Roger), and Linda Blackaby (Don); his dearly loved pug, Pudgy; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Aline Sanderson. 

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Gary Dawson. Interment will be in Eastport Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jackson Garrett, Eli Garrett, Tyler Freeman, Blake Freeman, Davon Shelton, Luke Robinson, Dallas Holloway, and Ram Mares.
