Susan Wright Sartain left this earth on May 2, 2022, to be gloriously reunited with her Heavenly Father, her mother, Lillie Mae Wright, and father, Thomas Edward Wright. Susan was born in Sheffield, AL on January 10th, 1950. Her mother delivered twin girls that day and until Susan’s death her sister, Judy Wright Sherrill, has been not only her sister, but her best friend. Susan grew up in Iuka, MS, and graduated from Iuka High School. She attended NECC where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. Susan loved nursing. She held a nursing license in Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. She worked for Iuka Hospital for 25 years and finished the last 10 years of her career as a Home Health nurse. Susan was a dedicated, loving mother to her two daughters, Stephanie Sartain Holder (Adam) and Julie Sartain Lawson (Wesley), and her niece who she loved as one of her own, Tanya Sherrill Shegryn (Peter). Susan’s grandchildren, Corey Belue, Chelsey Marlar Vuncannon, Cody Lawson and Clay Lawson were her pride and joy. She was blessed to have enjoyed 4 Great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Lambert, Easton Lowery, Sophia Vuncannon, and Haisley Vuncannon. She is also survived by 4 brothers, Tommy (Shelia) Wright, James (Becky) Wright, Steve Wilson (Sheila), all of Iuka, and Mike Wilson (Ouida) of Muscle Shoals and 2 sisters, Brenda Melvin (Greg) of Muscle Shoals and Melissa (Terry) Whitehead of Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 5pm until 8pm, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 11am at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Bro. Mike Brown. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Adam Holder, Cody Vuncannon, Matthew Cannon, Wesley Trimm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Nami MS Division, 2618 Southerland St., Ste 100, Jackson, MS 39216.
