Rex Noel Weathers

Rex Noel Weathers, 76, of Iuka, MS, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022. Mr. Weathers served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed spending his retirement writing songs, poetry, and books. He loved to read and watch Perry Mason in his spare time. Mr. Weathers was a member of the Balwyn American Legion and the VFW of Corinth, and he attended Rowland Mills Missionary Baptist Church. Along with that, he also enjoyed participating in politics. Mr. Weathers is survived by his two sisters, Jane Weathers and Mary Bonds (Jerry); his three brothers, Benny Weathers (Shirley Rose), Neal Weathers (Betty), and Frank Weathers (Cynthia); his sister-in-law, Geraldine Weathers; his special friends, Janice Thomas and Joyce Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Gaddis Weathers and Annie Ree Wright Weathers; his two brothers, Russell Weathers and Dwayne Weathers; and his niece, Courtney Pruitt. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen, officiated by Bro. Frankie Smith. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Zach Depoyster, John Depoyster, Ben Weathers, Jordan Pruitt, Jay Huggins, and Heath Thomas.  Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Lee Lewis, Arron Weathers, and Michael Crabb.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
