Regina Riley Benedict

Regina Lee Riley Benedict, 63, of Springfield, IL, passed away at 1:48 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her residence. Regina was born on October 22, 1954 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of B.E. Riley and Geneva Walker Riley. She married Kevin Benedict on January 1, 1986 in Springfield, IL. Regina was a 1972 graduate of Oakhaven High School in Tennessee. She was employed by MCGI in Springfield, IL, then went on to work for the Community Behavioral Healthcare Association. Regina enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and canoeing. She was preceded in death by her father; step-mother, Margaret June Riley; and step-father, Dwayne Ewing. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Benedict of Springfield, IL; her daughter, Dr. Amy (Jud) Barnes of Kansas City; her mother, Geneva Ewing of Counce, TN; four grandchildren, Jared, Shelby, William and Erin Barnes; four siblings, Elaine (Lewis) Spears of Olive Branch, MS, Alan (Rhonda) Riley of Walls, MS, Stacie Spurlin of Savannah, TN, and Jon (Jo Fairy) Riley of Iuka, MS; two special aunts, Barbara Balcom of Corinth, MS and Lila Mae Ham of Iuka, MS; three nieces; two nephews; and many cousins. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka.
