Nickey Cummings, 54, of Iuka, MS, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Nickey was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church, and was chief of the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also Tishomingo County Electric Power Association Board President and Yellow Creek Port Authority Board President. Nickey worked at Columbia Gulf Transmission Co. for 27 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Iron Warrior Motorcycle Group Misfits Chapter. He also enjoyed being a member of and hanging out at the fire department, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Nickey also enjoyed camping, boating, and spending time with family and friends, especially being “Pawpaw Baby” to his grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, at the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department, officiated by Bro. Scotty McCay. Interment will follow in Cummings Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include Terry Rorie, Blake Sullivan, Phillip Rorie, Randy “Cornbread” Trimm, Jimmy Glover, Paul Burns, Don Williams, Dennis Heavener, David Nixon, and Michael Osborn. Honorary pallbearers include the members of the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Dept., the Iron Warriors, Jonathan Martin, Chandler South, Nicky McRae, Harold Roy Skinner, and Greg Adams. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, at the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Janie Cummings; his mother, Emogene Cummings; one son, Daniel Cummings (Heather); a brother, Rickey Cummings (Phyllis); four grandchildren, Bristol, Chaseton, McKenleigh, and Baileigh; two nieces, Nicole South (Kelly) and Kari Bridges (Randy); and several great-nieces and nephews.
