Nelson Mark LaCoste, 59, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Mark attended Mt. Evergreen Church and was retired from Smith Marine Towing where he worked as a tugboat captain. He loved spending time outdoors and building things, and even built his own house. He also enjoyed spending his retirement with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marquita LaCoste; his mother, Irene Sonnier; one son, Johnathan LaCoste (LaKrisha); one daughter, Anna Morace (Jesse); two brothers, Paul Simmons (Angie) and Bucky LaCoste; four sisters, Janice Sonnier, Anita Osterholm (Bert), Brenda Simmons, and Debra Cannon; and four grandchildren, Clara Morace, Alexis White, Emma LaCoste, and Thomas LaCoste. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson LaCoste, Sr.; and a brother, Robert Cannon. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Michael Lambert. Interment will follow in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
