Lessel Leon Turner, 85, of Burnsville, MS passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was a recording artist and singer who recorded at least 10 cd's in her lifetime. She was known all over Burnsville as the "Kitty Wells" of gospel music. She also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Larry Bullock (Marie) and Jacky Bullock (Kim); her step son, Scotty Turner; her brother, Billy Joe Taylor (Donna); her step sister, Pam Marshall (Paul); her grandchildren, Leslie, Sabrina, Mary Ann, Larry Don, and Bruce; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maskell and Letha Davis Taylor; her siblings; and two nephews. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for 3pm until 4pm, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Rowland Mills Cemetery. Service is scheduled for 4pm, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Rowland Mills Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Wesley Newby. Burial will be in Rowland Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made in Lessel's honor to Jesus Name Apostolic Church.
