Layne Harris

Layne Harris, 56, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his residence. Layne was a very intelligent man who held eight professional degrees. He enjoyed fishing, building things, knife collecting, and photography, and also operated his own sharpening business. He knew how to make and work on tool and die machines and was a professional sous chef and billiards player, as well as a youth coach, youth counselor, a member of law enforcement and a sharp shooter. Layne was a member of the United States Airforce and a certified electrician. Layne is survived by his wife, Leanne Harris; his children, Jason Cody Lynn Harris, Keagan James Law Harris, and Rachel AnnMaria Sandy Harris; his mother, Sahara Wilson; his siblings, Vanessa Stults (Boo), April Wood, Rebecca McDonald, Patty Harris Frohawk, Terra Bailey (Fred), William "Bill" Harris, and Wesley Harris; his step-mother, Patsy Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Harris; and his grandparents. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS. Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Interment will be in Hinkle Cemetery.
