Larry Gaines

James Larry Gaines, 70, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Larry was a member of Strickland Church of Christ and was a former truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and watching Westerns. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gaines; a son, James “Bobo” Gaines; one brother, Hershel Skelton; two sisters, Pat Cosby and Diane Eichler; eight grandchildren, Cecelia Gaines, Brandon Kohliem, Anthony Kohliem, Kaitlyn Dexter, Jeremy Gaines, Jayden Gaines, Zoie Gaines, and Trinity Davis; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeffie Lou Gaines Forman; his daughter, Tabitha Gaines; three brothers, Phil Skelton, Milton Skelton, and Jerry Clay Skelton; and a sister, Anita Skelton. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, at Strickland Church of Christ, officiated by Bro. Terry Smith. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers include Paul Cosby, Eric Cooper, Brad Godwin, Tyler Shook, Cody Newcomb, and Jason Huffman. Honorary pallbearers include Robert W. Lambert, Brandon Kohliem, and Anthony Kohliem. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, at Strickland Church of Christ and will continue until service time on Tuesday.
