Kenneth William Dean, 60, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Kenneth was 40-year veteran of both the U. S. Army and the Mississippi National Guard. While in the National Guard he was part of the 223rd Engineering Battalion and served twice in Iraq during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was retired from Caterpillar in Corinth and enjoyed traveling to the mountains, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his mother, Jewel Dean; one son, Joseph Dean; one daughter, Kendra Dean; and one sister, Vicki Bunch (Thomas), all of Iuka; four grandchildren, Jada Elizabeth Dean, Alaska Diane Tensley, Anniston Rain Tensley, and Aden Brooke Osborn; a special friend, Donna McDonald; and his “other son”, his dog, Theo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Pickle Dean; and his father, Henry William Dean. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, at Fifth Street Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Tony Curtis. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Joseph Dean, Willie Ray Huggins, Joey Wayne Pickle, and James Ray Huggins, Junior Ross, and Jerry Holly. Honorary pallbearers include Steve K. Smith, Keith Davis, and Thomas Bunch. Visitation is scheduled for 12:00 until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, at Fifth Street Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
