Karen Marie James, 73, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Friday, February 14, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Everyone that knew Karen loved her and affectionately called her Nana. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating and having people over for coffee or a delicious home-cooked meal, and she absolutely loved joking around and cutting up with people. As a homemaker, Karen took excellent care of her home and family. She was a kind and caring woman all around, but she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen is survived by her children, Tracy James, Jason James (Carrie), Nathaniel James (Lorie), Matthew James, and Lauren Gattis (Daniel); her grandchildren, Hannah Parsons (Covy), Katelyn Hardwick (Nathan), Jordan Hardwick (Ashley), Justin Hardwick, Everett James, Evie James, Erin Rorie (Dillan), Hope Tigner (Hayden), Jake Whitehead (Danielle), Julianna South (Chandler), Paisley James, Bailee Gattis (Garrett), and Brynlee Gattis; her 13 great-grandchildren; her Yorkie, Tag; and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger James; her daughter, Michelle James Rye; and her parents, Mary and Carl Braun. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Visitation will continue at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers include Chandler South, Daniel Gattis, Dale Aldridge, Covy Parsons, Nathan Koehlinger, and Jake Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Hardwick, Garrett Lynch, and her grandsons.
