Juanita Pounders Woodruff

Juanita Rebecca Pounders Woodruff, 81, of Cairo, Mississippi, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mrs. Juanita was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Before retiring, she worked for 14 years in the cafeteria at Burnsville school. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. Her favorite thing to do, however, was to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Juanita is survived by her children, Sheron Woodruff of Burnsville, MS, Tanya Lambert (Mark) of Burnsville, MS, and Carol Spoon (Mike) of Cairo, MS; her grandchildren, Eric Penney (Bre) of San Clemente, CA, Jessica Penney (Ben) of Pueblo, CO, Patrick Ferrell (Ireland) of Iuka, MS, Leland Lambert (Kayla) of Burnsville, MS, Marlee Carpenter (Ryan) of Oxford, MS, Maya Lambert (Will) of Gulfport, MS, Christopher Spoon (Coral) of Cairo, MS, and Charles Spoon of Cairo, MS; her great-grandchildren, Scarlett Penney, Irelyn Penney, Isabella Lambert, Magnolia Lambert, Everett Lambert, Chassi Spoon, and Chrislynn Spoon; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne Woodruff; her parents, James Riley and Myrtle Ethel Pounders; her brothers, Melvin Pounders of Rhode Island, James Pounders (Betty) of Iuka, L.C. Pounders (Myrtis) of Killen, AL; her sisters, Jewel Hale (David) of Killeen, TX, Hester Enlow (Curtis) of Columbus, MS, and Maxine Swendenburg (Leon) of Columbus, MS; her three infant siblings, Emmie O. Pounders, Charles R. Pounders, and Laura J. Pounders; and her mother and father-in-law, Eula Martin and James "Rube" Woodruff. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Donald Pounders and Charles Forrester. Pallbearers include Eric Penney, Patrick Ferrell, Leland Lambert, Christopher Spoon, Charles Spoon, Everett Lambert, Mike Spoon, and Mark Lambert. Honorary pallbearers include her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. A graveside service will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery, officiated by Bro. Scott Webber.
