Jimmie Mae Monroe Miller, a beloved member of the North Crossroads community known for her kindness and gentle spirit, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born July 20, 1947 to Lorraine Gray Monroe and James Morgan Monroe. She brought light into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She worked at different jobs during her lifetime but many will remember her as the waitress with the honey-dipped Southern accent at Jane’s Diner in Counce, TN, who always had time for a good chat.
Jimmie Mae leaves behind a legacy of love and cherish memories. She loved sunshine, roses, scary movies, and being outside, but she loved conversation and the company of her friends and family even more. She will be deeply missed, but her kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Morgan and Lorraine Gray Monroe; her sisters, Faye Monroe Gentry and Charlotte Reese; and her beloved husband, Rick Miller.
She leaves behind to carry on her memory her two daughters, Anissa Talley and Kimberly Dawn Britton, four grandchildren; Ashlee Morgan Tucker, Dustin Vandergriff, Gabrielle Murphy (Chris), and Landon Britton, three great-grandchildren; David Vandergriff, Samantha Vandergriff, and Dallas Austin, her brother and sister-in-law, James J. and Scharolette Monroe, her nephew, James “Jamie” Monroe; her niece, Christy Honeycutt; two life-long friends, Shirley Skinner Venatta and Annette Russell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Michael Lambert and Bro. Dylan Coursey. Burial will follow in North Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers will included James Monroe, Cody Austin, Darrell Bullard, Gerry Lambert, Edward "P Joe" Arnold, and Chris Murphy.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the caretakers at VitalCaring Hospice in Corinth, MS, especially her nurses, Micaela Winchell and Misty Luker, and her CNA, Bridgett Turner.
