Jesse Ray Morris

November 21, 1998 — September 22, 2023

Jesse Ray Morris, 24, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Friday, September 22, 2023. Jesse was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Church of Christ. For most of his career, Jesse was a diesel mechanic. He attended South Georgia Technical College in Americus, GA, and graduated with honors. While he loved his mechanic work, he was truly multitalented, incredibly smart, and could do anything he set his mind to. He was a gifted inventor and loved building and creating new things. In his free time, Jesse enjoyed endurance running. He began running in high school on the cross country and track teams and kept it as a hobby after graduation. He enjoyed running so much that one day, he decided to run almost 8 miles from his house to Sonic. Once he got there, he tried to get a cup of water and was unfortunately denied because he didn’t bring any money. Exhausted and thirsty, he had to call his sister, who brought him his wallet and a ride back home. There were a lot of things he loved in life, but his cats and his family held a special place in his heart. Jesse is survived by his parents, Charlotte and Ray Steve Morris; his sisters, Jade Morris Newcomb and Haley Nikolaj (Niko); his girlfriend, Emma Jarman; his grandparents, Charlotte and Bobby Ray Morris and Joan Wade; his niece, Shyloh Newcomb; his nephew, Coleson Morris; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Hoyt Wade; his uncle, Robert Morris; and his great-uncle, Jim Morris. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Craig Chandler. Pallbearers include Ethan Morris, Eli Adams, Jaret Johnson, Niko Nikolaj, Jared Kettler, and Brian Morris. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery following a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jesse’s honor to Pine Vale Children’s Home in Corinth, MS. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
