Jerry Don "Doodle" Davis, 69, of Burnsville, MS, passed away on Saturday June 6, 2020 in Nolensville, TN, where he resided for the past 22 years. It is hard to put into words how to describe a man who was loved and respected by so many different people.
Jerry was an entrepreneur and businessman for many, many years, - owning Choice Auto Sales and Choice Construction in TN and B&K Rentals of Iuka, just to name a few. He was a member of Iuka Lodge #94 F&AM. He was the type of man who believed in hard work and pride, bettering oneself by learning and doing, and passing on knowledge to help everyone. He was quick to lend a helping hand to those in need, his friends, neighbors, and community.
Jerry loved throwing shindigs on the mountain for family and friends. He enjoyed spending time working in his shop and completing many projects, big and small. When he was not working, he loved watching old Westerns.
He dearly loved his wife and three girls, along with their five grandchildren and his little dog, Bella.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherry Honeycutt Davis; his daughters, Kelly Bowers, Shelly Davis, and Susan Thompson (Brad); grandchildren, Tyler Cutshall, Bryson Bowers, Gracie Bowers, Hunter Thompson and Hannon Thompson; his father, Edward Davis; and brother Mike Davis (Jane).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Davis; his brother, Eddie Davis; and his grandparents, Harvey and Lilla Davis and Lewis and Amy Hale.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church from 9am until 12 Noon. A graveside service will be at 12 Noon on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamey Honeycutt, Shane Honeycutt, Jeff Jones, Brad Thompson, Tyler Cutshall, Bryson Bowers and Hunter Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gracie Bowers and Hannon Thompson.
