Jean Stricklin Cook

January 30, 1939 — May 21, 2024

Jean Cook (Eddie Jean Stricklin), 85, of Corinth, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Jean was born on January 30, 1939, to Audie and Eddie Stricklin in Holts Spur, and lived most of her life in the area. She was a member of Burnsville Pentecostal Church for many years before moving to Corinth and joining the West Corinth Pentecostal Tabernacle. Jean was a kind and selfless woman. She always made sure everyone was cared for before caring for her own needs and often went out of her way to help others. In her free time, she loved to be around nature.  Lately, she liked to sit and watch the birds, but in her younger years, she loved walking in the woods and has missed being able to. Jean is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Cook; her granddaughters, Rachel Simmons and Christina McAnally; and her beloved cat, Precious. She was preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Eddie Stricklin; her sister, Reba Inez Wiginton; and her 3 infant brothers. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Rowland Mills Cemetery, officiated by Bro. James Rich. Interment will be in Rowland Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean’s honor to your local animal humane society or shelter. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
