Janice Edmondson South

July 18, 1937 — November 24, 2019

Janice Edmondson South, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Janice had a small radio she was known for carrying around and listening to Tishomingo County High School sports, especially basketball. She told her family at times that even though she wasn't there in person, she could see the children on the court playing. She loved children and was known as Granny to her grandchildren and the neighborhood children. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Noel C. "Red" South; her daughter, Nancy Stripling (Bobby); her grandchildren, Evan Stripling, Ethan Stripling, and Heather Marks (Doug); her great grandchildren, Noah Marks, Peyton Marks, and Levi Marks; her close family friends, William and Mary Baldwin, Mark and Katye Baldwin, and Kenlee and Emma Baldwin; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Eugene and Floy Lillian Paden Edmondson; her son, Sammy South; and her brothers, Autrey Edmondson and his wife, Nita, and Floyd Lee Edmondson. Visitation is scheduled from 5pm until 8pm, Monday, November 25, 2019 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 11am until the time of services. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Johnny Hancock. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Taylor Walker, DJ Walker, Mikey Crabb, Brady Anglin, Evan Stripling, Ethan Stripling, Mark Baldwin, Chris Edmondson, and Drew Edmondson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Walker, Bobby Paden, Gene Jourdan, Garvin Walker, Anthony Edmondson, and Mack Lloyd Wadkins. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka has been entrusted with the arrangements. Donations may be made in Mrs. Janice's honor to the Iuka Baptist Church Vacation Bible School Fund, to the Iuka Youth Athletic League, or to the Tishomingo County Braves Basketball program.
