James "Jim" E. Mitchell

James E. “Jim” Mitchell, 79, of Iuka, MS, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at his residence. He enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, and getting in his travel trailer and going places. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, Betty, his family, and his dog, Scooter. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Lance Foster and David Lambert. Interment will follow in Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny Northington, Paul Morris, Eugene Thorne, Jeff Hollis, Brad Estes, and Gary Bostick. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Betty Bailey Mitchell of Iuka; two sons, Mac and David Mitchell; one daughter, Kay Thompson (Barry); three step daughters, Debra Northington (Johnny), Deedra Hollis (Jeff), and Brenda Bailey Blakley; three grandchildren, Leslie Thompson Letson (Doug), David Thompson, and Olivia Mitchell; 7 step grandchildren – Andrea Rutherford, Keisha Northington, Hannah Herndon, Jon-Michael Northington (Breanna), and Stella, Lola, and Eva Hollis; and 5 step great grandchildren – Jon Britton Northington, Sophie Northington, Jon Brantley Northington, Iva Katherine Herndon, and Kenley Northington. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lester Mitchell and Essie Lee Hill Mitchell; and his grandson, Jesse Mitchell.
