Howard Vance Ellis, 91, of Iuka, MS, died on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Southern Magnolia Estates. He enjoyed blue grass music, gardening, and spending time with his family. Howard was known for playing his homemade upright tub and his guitar. He is survived by his daughter, Kim Melton (Steve); his grandchildren, Brandon Melton, Joshua Melton (Elizabeth), Matthew Melton (Valerie), and Kaitlyn Pedercini (Caleb); his great-grandchildren, Kinley and Lyndon Melton; his sister, Janice Fowler; and his best friend, Ms. Betty Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozzie and Sadie Ellis; his wife, Janie Carpenter Ellis; his son, Kenneth Howard Ellis; and his siblings, Gordon Ellis, Horace Ellis, Faye Ellis King, and David Hamlin. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. The family has chosen to hold a private family memorial at a later date. Donations may be made in Mr. Ellis’ honor to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital or to the Midway Volunteer Fire Department.
