Gladys Cleo Dixon, 96, of Cicero, Illinois, formerly of Corinth, Mississippi, died Saturday, October 22, 2022, at her residence in Cicero, IL. Mrs. Dixon was known for helping others and being the rock of her family. She retired from Sloan Valve Co. in Franklin Park, IL, following 21 years of service. She loved to travel and visited every U. S. state except Alaska. Gladys loved her rose garden and also enjoyed country music, crocheting, and crafting. She is survived by one daughter, Alice Scott; one brother, James Gray; three sisters, Laverda Johnson, Ruth Holder, and Ruby Fondren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Marvin Barnes and Merle Dixon; and three sons, James Barnes, Albert Barnes, and Bobby Barnes. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Billy Glover. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Scott Barnes, Merle Dixon, James Blankenship, Bobby W. Barnes, Bobby G. Barnes, and Steven Johnson. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen.
