Doris "Mama D" Trussell

Doris "Mama D" Trussell, age 89, was a beloved member of her community and family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking walks, and cooking Sunday dinners. Doris was a devoted member of Spring Hill Church.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Trussell (Debbie), Gary Trussell (Lisa), and Regina Cass (Christopher); her grandchildren, Amy Moore (Brian), Amanda Lott (Casey), Blake Cass (Marisa), Brady Cass (Dale-Anna), and Bryson Cass (Madison Pharr); 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Peggy Henderson (James Neal); several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamar Trussell; her parents, Carl and Mavis Gladney Bowie; and her sister, Evelyn Hargiss (Johnny).

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., at Spring Hill Church. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M., officiated by Jimmy Smith. Burial will take place in Tishomingo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Moore, Casey Lott, Bryson Cass, Brady Cass, Blake Cass, Wade Henderson, and Cade Lott.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Resident's Christmas Fund at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home, 230 Kaki St., Iuka, MS  38852.

Arrangements are entrusted to Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS.
