Connie Ray Jones

Connie Ray Jones, 81, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. Connie Ray was born on December 4, 1941, to the late Thomas Howard Jones and Laura McKee Jones. He was born the youngest of ten children. On May 23, 1962, he married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth. They were married for 60 years, until her passing in September of 2021. Connie Ray, who liked to be known as Ray, had a love for carpentry that developed into a lifelong construction business that he ran with the help of his family members. He took pride in building homes with his family, for other families. As a young man, he was very athletic, and his love for sports carried over to supporting his children and especially his grandchildren at any and all sporting events. Ray liked to garden, hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. When spending time with family, he could be found dancing, singing, and joking around. Connie Ray loved Jesus as his Lord. He shared his love for Jesus with his children and grandchildren. He loved worshipping through song, especially gospel music. Ray Jones will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his family rejoices that he had a place prepared for him, long ago, through victory on the cross. Connie Ray is survived by his children, Michael Jones (Renea), Amy Moore (Ed), and Tammy Rone (Michael); his eleven grandchildren, Monica Provins (Justin), Farrah O’Toole, Kelly Prather (Courtney), Justin Jones (Morgan), Kelsey Smith (Kyler), Collin Rone (Katelyn), Greg Moore, Josh Moore, Kate Moore, Corey Moore (Ivy), and CeCelia Rosendahl (Tyler); and his twelve great grandchildren. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ray Kirk. Pallbearers include Justin Jones, Greg Moore, Collin Rone, Josh Moore, Justin Provins, Courtney Prather, Kyler Smith, and Michael Rone.
