Leatrice Charline Crane, 88, of Paden, MS, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. Heaven just got a little sweeter. Born July 8, 1930, Mrs. Crane was the daughter of Charlie Frank and Mona Wheeler Walden. She married Clevis Crane on January 22, 1955, and moved to East Peoria, IL, where they made their home and raised their three children. Later in life, the family moved back home to Paden, MS, where they operated Crane’s Grocery and Service Station for several years. Charline was a good friend and loving mother. She enjoyed cooking for her family, who knew her to make the world’s best fried chicken and sweet tea. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved to take them fishing, beat them in a game of checkers, and bake cookies with them. Charline was an accomplished gardener, as there was not a plant or flower that she could not grow. She enjoyed country music and trips to the Grand Ole Opry. She loved all her family and was dearly loved by them in return. She leaves Earth with a piece of our hearts. She is survived by three children, Ronnie Crane (Rhonda) of Paden, Rebecca Walker (Frank) of Iuka, and Debbie Rodgers (Jim) of Fayetteville, TN; one brother, Billy Walden (Rita) of Booneville; seven treasured grandchildren, Steve Crane, David Crane, Natalie Arnold, Mack Walker, Samantha Walker, Jimmy Rodgers, and Jennifer Glazener; 13 great-grandchildren; all her dear friends and the caring staff at Southern Magnolia Estates; and her devoted cat, Zoey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clevis; her sister, Juanette Anglin; three brothers, Bob Walden, Gerald Walden, and Tommy Whitley; and infant brothers, Don and Harold Walden. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro.
