Bobby Gene “Bucky” Jones, 79, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, September 20, 2021, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Jones was a U. S. Air Force veteran with an MOS of Firefighter. He spent four years active duty military and two years inactive. He was stationed for three years at the Panama Canal. After leaving the Air Force, Bucky obtained a job at Continental Trailways as a mechanic. He was also employed at Wrangler as a sewing machine mechanic in Red Bay, AL. He met his wife, Virginia Castleberry in 1968 and they were married in August of 1970. In his younger years, he enjoyed painting cars. He also enjoyed working in his yard, watching the Discovery Channel, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 51 years and four months, Virginia Jones; one daughter, Peggy Seaton; three sisters, Nancy Nuckols (Ray) of Vesuvius, VA, Millie Micheletty (Fiorino) of Boise, ID, and Janie Gonzales of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Paul Daniel Seaton and Molly Seaton; and 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Carson and Mildred Franks Jones; his son-in-law, Paul Gordon Seaton; two brothers, George Armstrong and Bubba Armstrong; his aunt, Jewel Starkey ;and his uncles, Bill Franks and Bud Franks. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Mike Haines and Bro. J. B. Burns. Interment will follow in Rutledge Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Paul Daniel Seaton, Robert Castleberry, Jeff Powers, Wes Smith, Tommy Starkey, David Whitfield, and Jeff Rogers. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Trussell, Tommy Hester, and Charles Pardue. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home.
