Billy, also known as Granddaddy, was a hard worker, but better known as a devout family-man. His life revolved around his family. When his wife, Marcia, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Billy was determined that she receive the best possible care for her condition. And he did just that. He cared for her in their home until her passing on January 1, 2022. That act of love was a fulfillment of vows exchanged on December 24, 1966, . . . Until death do us part. The love that Billy had for his children and grandchildren helped to compensate for the void Marcia’s passing had left in his heart. Granddaddy could be found at his grandchildren’s events beaming with pride for each and every one of them. The granddaughters; Kitty Cat, Molli, Klaire Bell, Graci Lou, and Landri were his special girls. But, his one-and-only grandson, Petey Peyt, was Granddaddy’s main little man. Granddaddy was known to show up at their houses on early mornings or late nights on college campuses to deliver birthday balloons, drive two hours just to see them, or search the country high and low for golf cart parts. And Christmas . . . Christmas was the highlight of Granddaddy’s year. There wasn’t anything he would rather do than to Christmas shop for his family. Billy’s love for his family was evident and will live on in their hearts and memories forever. From some of Billy’s last words, “Ain’t life stellar.”
