Betty Fay Phifer, 93, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died on Friday, December 23, 2022, in her home. Betty was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, and she loved to serve the Lord and read her bible. She was best known for her love of reminiscing and telling stories from the past. She would always say, “I have to talk about the past because I don’t know the future.” She enjoyed sewing and cooking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Betty is survived by her siblings, Helen McAnally, Maxine Phifer, Doyle Phifer, Ann Phifer, and Donnie Phifer (Shelia); her sisters-in-law, Esther and Doris Phifer; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Riley and Estella Tennison Phifer; and her siblings, JD (Joyce), John (Ruth), Billy Ray, Randall (Virginia), Harold, and Jimmy Dale Phifer. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Mike Smith and Bro. Bobby Casteel. Pallbearers include Timmy McAnally, Tony McAnally, Clint Phifer, Conner Phifer, Chuck Phifer, Billy Phifer, Michael Smith, and Mike Smith. Honorary pallbearers are all of Betty’s nephews.
