Rebekah Louise Whitaker Curtis, 53, of Iuka, MS, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at her residence. Rebekah was employed for 25 years at BancorpSouth and attended Iuka United Methodist Church. She graduated from Cherokee High School and the University of North Alabama with a B. S. in Business Administration. She was known for bringing joy to life for everyone she encountered and was an Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, James E. “Jim” Curtis of Iuka; her mother, Clara Whitaker of Iuka; one son, James Curtis of Iuka; three sisters, Christa Denmark (Phil) of Fort McCoy, FL, Mary Grimes (Steve) of Jacksonville, FL, and Jamie Cossitt (Larry) of Tiplersville, MS; six nieces, Jessie, Molly, Callie, Olivia, Gracey, and Annie; and two nephews, Seth and Hunter. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Ronnie Strickland and Rebekah’s BancorpSouth family for their love and support during her time of illness. as well as the many friends and family too numerous to thank individually for their love and support. She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Whitaker. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Kerry Powell. Interment will follow in Margerum Cemetery. Pallbearers include Seth Curtis, Hunter Walker, Keith Curtis, Matt Logan, Dean Talley, and Larry Cossitt. Honorary pallbearers include Charles Curtis, Russ Logan, Steve Grimes, and Phil Denmark. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka.
