Ava W. Wimbish

June 29, 1932 — September 24, 2020

On September 24, 2020, Ava Maureen Wade Wiimbish passed from this world into the next. She loved her family, here and gone on before, with all her heart. Ava was the second child of Robert Sidney Wade and Ila Alberta Armstrong Wade, born June 29, 1932 and raised in Holcut, MS, surrounded by extended family. Her cousins were her best friends, and she loved them dearly. She was blessed with an older brother, Eural (Ola) Wade, and two sisters, Annette (Steve) Nesbitt and Julia (Steve) Goodman. Ava married Bob Wimbish on September 29, 1953, and raised 4 children, Ellen (Eddie) Green, Mary (Phillip) South, Robert (Tracy) Wimbish, Jon (Sharon) Wimbish. While rearing her children, she worked at Tishomingo School as a teacher, Reading Specialist, and Elementary Principal. She is remembered with fondness by many of her students for sharing her love of reading. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, correspondence, and sharing memories of past loved ones with her current loved ones. Preceding her in death were her beloved parents, Sid and Ila; and her brother, Eural. She leaves behind her husband, Bob; children, Ellen, Mary, Robert, and Jon; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, and a beloved sister in law. Ava was a Christian and a member of the Iuka Church of Christ. She sent into the world many thoughtful cards and sincere prayers. Her family appreciates greatly the prayers and thoughtful demonstration of concerns. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service is set for Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2pm at Spring Hill Cemetery, with Lance Foster officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mikey Shea, Curtis Grady, Amos Schrock, Danny Wilbanks, Ronnie Joslin, and Wayne Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Carol Tuckier, Barry Boothe, and Scott McGee. Donations may be made in Ava's honor to Pinevale Children's Home. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
