Annie Ruth Barnes, 78, of Iuka, Mississippi, was welcomed into Heaven on Thursday, March 17, 2022, after a brief illness. Ms. Barnes was born on November 18, 1943, to Lillian Woodruff Barnes and Earl Wheeler Barnes. Ms. Barnes received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at The University of North Alabama. She was a dedicated employee of North Mississippi Medical Center for thirty years. Ms. Barnes was a lifelong member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She is survived by her sisters, Louise Cox, Hilda Grisham, and Bernice Perry; and a sister-in-law, Mary Linton Barnes. She leaves several nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Earl Barnes; a sister, Earline Whitfield; a brother, Keifer Barnes; and three brothers-in-law, Clay Whitfield, Jimmy Grisham, Kenneth Cox, and Perk Perry. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, Mississippi, is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Harmony United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Ron Thomas and Rev. Cliff Vines. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Mike Barnes, Jeff Barnes, Joey Grisham, Lynn Perry, Ray Cox, and John Andy Ward.
