On Tuesday, November 15 th , 2022 Angela Thorne Rodriquez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, peacefully moved on to her next adventure. She was eighty-three. Angela arrived on earth February 4 th , 1939, to Roscoe and Eva Thorne.
Angela attended the local high school in Iuka, Mississippi and later dropped out of her senior year. Despite all odds, she went on to study at Northeast Mississippi Community College, then the University of Minnesota where she received her bachelor’s degree and became a Registered Nurse. As a forever learner, Angela returned to school and received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She led a diverse career as a nurse, Director of Nursing, and Administrator of Long-Term Care/Rehab facilities in hospitals, prisons, home health, and hospice. Five of those years were spent living, learning, and working on Navajo and Apache Reservations in Arizona and New Mexico.
Angela loved to go on car rides especially during the fall season to see the beautiful changing colors of the leaves. She loved to travel and enjoyed checking off goals on her bucket list, such as holding an alligator in Florida, traveling to Mexico and even taught herself to read and speak Spanish fluently. She and her daughter lived in Tennessee, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado making her way to Arizona. Angela lived in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona for many years. While visiting Willcox, Az, Angela met her longtime life partner, Robert “Bob” Stinson.
Angela longed to live back in Tucson, Arizona to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Now, her daughter will be able to place her ashes at the ranch she loved to be at with her longtime companion, Robert “Bob” Stinson, who preceded her in death.
Angela is survived by her son, Michael Milligan, and daughter, Kay Lynn Milligan Chaparro, grandchildren, Ann Elizabeth, Michael Johnson, Amye Chaparro, Eva Robertson, and great grandchildren, Michael Johnson Jr., Jasmine Johnson, Nathan, Reilly Rogers, Calliope, and Van whom she loved very much.
