Andrew James Bassford

Andrew James Bassford, 37, of Tishomingo, MS passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. From an early age, Andrew loved to cook which led him to become a trained chef once he finished high school. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Andrew was also fond of antiques and could be found picking and collecting in his free time. He is survived by his mother, Ruthie Wiley Bassford; his sister, Erin Bassford Taylor (Dustin); his grandmothers, Rilla Trimm Wiley and Mary Ann Updyke; his nephew, Samuel James Taylor; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Manning Bassford; and his grandfathers, Robert Lee Wiley and Wilson Updyke. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9am until 10:30 am at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11am at Tishomingo Cemetery. Donations may be made in Andrew’s honor to the donors charity of choice.
