Carla Booker Branson, 45, of Iuka, MS, died Monday, July 3, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Carla was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church. She was a 1989 graduate of Iuka High School, and received her nursing degree from Shelby State University. Carla worked all over the country from coast to coast as a traveling registered nurse. She enjoyed boating and fishing on the river, and especially loved the beach and spending time with her children. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 7, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Gene Gist. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chaz Akers, David Gist, Charles Welch, David Welch, Sammy Welch, and Greg Booker. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her father, Carl Booker; her grandmother, Emma Frances Akers; her daughters, Ivy Branson, Sawyer Booker, and Braleigh Booker; a brother, Bradley Booker; and her uncles and aunts, Robert “Buddy” Akers, Stanley Akers, Stephanie Barnett (Tommy), Mark Akers, (Amy), Leroy Booker, and Peggy Brown; all of Iuka. She was preceded in death by her mother, Terri Jo Booker; an infant brother, Christopher Booker; and her grandparents, Bobby Joe Akers, and Webster and Jeffie Booker.
