Clara Lucille “Lucy” Phifer, 93, of Iuka, MS, died Monday, July 3, 2017, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Mrs. Phifer was a member of Campground United Methodist Church. She retired from the Tishomingo County Hospital where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She was also formerly employed by Meals on Wheels at the Iuka Youth Center. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and especially playing with her cat, Garfield. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Tim Hankins. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jimmy Woodruff, Larry Cutshall, Jimmy Don Whitfield, Scotty Mayo, Gary Kennedy, and Frank Samples. Dr. Al Flannery and David Whitfield will serve as honorary pallbearers. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by one son, Bobby Phifer (Lyndia) of Iuka; four sisters, Audene Yancey of Corinth, Earline Woodruff of Booneville, Florence Gann of Burnsville, and Johnnie Mayo of Nettleton; one grandson, Benny Phifer of Iuka; and a great-grandson, Ben Phifer of Iuka. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. D. Phifer; her parents, Charlie and Mamie Samples Moss; and two sisters, Virginia Pierce and Patsy Kennedy.
