Lillie Ruth Ramsey Johnson

Lillie Ruth Ramsey Johnson, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 06, 2017. She was born in Iuka, MS on November 11, 1934. She attended Central Grammar School and graduated from Iuka High School in 1952. After graduating from Northeast Mississippi Junior College in education she taught school for a few years at Central school. She married Robert William Johnson “Billy” on January 18, 1953. She was a founding member of the Iuka Gospel Church where she served as the church secretary and treasurer for over 40 years, and she was also a Sunday school teacher. When her children started school, Mrs. Johnson began to sell Tupperware and did so for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. “Billy” Johnson; her children, Robert R. and Sherry Johnson and Patrice and Gary Wallace; grandchildren, Cliff (Jessica) Johnson and Crystal (Philip) Crowe; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Lucas, Jaxson, Addilyn Reese, Rylee, and Danica; a sister, Clarene (Eugene) Reynolds; two brothers, Jim (Donna) and Jack Ramsey; a sister-in-law, Peggy Ramsey; an aunt, Nell Long Landrum; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Clifton and Ruth Ramsey; granddaughter Parris Wallace; a brother Earl Ramsey; and a nephew, Ronnie Ramsey. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. at Iuka Gospel Chapel in Iuka, MS. A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at Iuka Gospel Chapel in Iuka, MS with a short visitation before the service at 1 P.M. at the church. There will be graveside service immediately following at Campground Methodist Church Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka has been entrusted with the arrangements.
