Robert "Bobby" Wayne Walker

Robert Wayne “Bobby” Walker was born on May 14, 1939 in Iuka, Mississippi and passed from this world at home, surrounded by family who loved him, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Bobby was an Air Force veteran and worked for 40 years at Tishomingo County Electric Power Association, as a lineman. He was called “Hippy” by his co-workers. He was a member of IBEW Local 852. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and woodworking. He loved children, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a Civil War history buff and enjoyed metal detecting. He never met a stranger and was always helping others. He truly enjoyed life. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Sheldon Lambert. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Pallbearers include Brian Calton, Bobby Walker (2), James Walker, Wesley Strickland, Preston Clemmons, and Jerry Gray. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Walker, Will Stephens, Nate Stephens, Bob Gresham, Glen Sanders, and all the employees at TCEPA. He is survived by his wife, Judy Gresham Walker; his children, Leah Stephens (Eric), Brooke Winiewicz (Ryan), Anna Bailey (Sparky), Beth Brumley (James), Mike Walker (Angela), Robbie Strickland (Scott), and Vicky Strickland (Tim); 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Gail Osmun (Aaron), Geneva Ewing, and Barbara Balcom. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Walker; his mother, Flora Carr Walker; his sister, Janet Jackson; and his brother, Billy Walker.
