Geneva Blackard, 94, of Iuka, MS, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at her residence. Mrs. Blackard was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and had beautiful flower gardens. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Stanley Magill. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by one son, Hershel Wayne Blackard (Mara) of Port Richey, FL; two daughters, Deloris Patton and Peggy Higginbottom (Ben), both of Iuka; two brothers, Gatha Estes (Carol) of Beach Park, IL, and Kenneth Estes of Gurnie, IL; seven grandchildren, Lori Lewey (Art) of Chicago, IL, Gary Higginbottom (Deborah) of Tishomingo, Le ann Carlson (Kent) of Harker Heights, TX, Joel Scott Blackard (Janice) of Dacula, GA, James Blackard (Deb) of Racine, WI, Amy Frederick (Jeff) of Tupelo, and John Metzinger, Jr. (Debbie) of Tulee, FL; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hershel Lee Blackard; a grandson, John Wayne Blackard; her parents, George and Alice Hannah Estes; two brothers, John Grady Estes and Junior Austine Estes; and five sisters, Virginia Hendrix, Reva Madeara Gist, Josie Freida Estes, Damie Jewel Estes, and Helen Ruth Estes.
