Jacky “Big Daddy” South, 58, of Iuka, MS, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at his residence. He was a Master Mason and member of the Burnsville Lodge number 233 F&AM. He was employed by Bonds Construction Company for 7 years, and was also employed by Rogers Road Construction Company for 28 years where he was a supervisor. He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed making wind chimes and other crafts. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Michael South. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers include Carl Morris, Steve Morris, Eddie Morris, Mikey Shea, Junior Caranzo, and Eddie Bray. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Dale Lovelace, Tim Childs, and Oran Lee “Pop” Bray. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Monday, February 27 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Savell of Iuka; two sisters, Shelia South Phifer (Donnie) of Tishomingo, MS and Myra South Barnett of Corinth, MS; two brothers, Elmer South, Jr. (Tracy) of Iuka and Estes R. Brown (Geri) of Fredricktown, MO; and two grandchildren, Ivy Rose Savell and Patience “P.J.” Savell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Booster” South and Lena South.
