Joseph Garvin Robinson Davis, 80, of Elizabethton, TN, formerly of Iuka, MS, died Friday, September 16, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Davis was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a retired pipe fitter from TVA. He was a Mason, and enjoyed playing guitar and singing with friends around the campfire. Joe Garvin Davis was a well-known colorful character, and a local expert, wherever he was. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bo Murphy and Rev. James Rich. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers include Larry Cutshall, Charlie Cutshall, Cliff McBee, Joey Bowers, Kip DeLoach, and Ben DeLoach. Honorary pallbearers include Andy Bowers, Barry Barlar, Terry Arnold, Gerald Arnold, Eddie Honeycutt, and Mickey Mathis. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa Hyder (Bill) of Elizabethton, TN, and Jennifer DeLoach (Cliff) of Talking Rock, GA; 1 brother, Bobby Scruggs of Memphis, TN; 4 sisters, Lessel Robinson of Iuka, Jean Wilson of Ooltewah, TN, Sarah McBee of Iuka, and Martha Barlar of Pulaski, TN; 6 grandchildren, Joey Bowers, Andy Bowers, Lacie Hyder, Kip DeLoach, Ben DeLoach, and Delaney DeLoach; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph D. Davis; his parents, Elmo and Roxie Davis; his birth parents, Joseph Lester Robinson and Oma Lee Robinson Scruggs; 2 sisters, Elaine Long and Dorothy Forrest; and one brother, Aaron Robinson.
