Della Hughes, 79, of Iuka, MS, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Eastport Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, and working in her yard and flowers. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Donovan Cain. Interment will follow in Eastport Cemetery. Pallbearers include Hal Holt, William Floyd, Aaron Carson, Don Wilson, Terry Booker, Eric Booker, James Holt, Vincent Speece, and Leroy Booker. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Lambert (George Allred) of Iuka; two brothers, Carl Gates of Harrison, TN, and Hoyt Gates of Cleveland, TN; a sister, Opal Bradam of Cleveland, TN; two grandchildren, Mark Lambert of Memphis, TN, and Samantha Michael of Iuka; and one great-grandchild, Brenden Kole Waldrep. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tulon Hughes; her parents, R. D. and Icye Morgan Gates; and nine brothers and sisters.
