On December 24, 2015, George Nunley, a very good husband, father, poppaw, brother, and friend, beloved by many in Iuka, Chicago, and Ozark, Missouri, went to a place where he will have no more pain. He resided in Ozark, MO, was formerly of Iuka, MS, and died at Maples Rehab in Springfield, MO. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Monna Sue Belue Nunley; his daughter, Rebecca Nunley Thomas; two sisters, Lora May Nunley Floyd and Mattie Faye Nunley Helton; three grandsons, Jordan Thomas, Benjamin Thomas, and Christopher Thomas; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Myrell Dewey “Dude” Nunley; his mother, Annie Mae Selman Nunley; his brother, Mose “Dewey” Nunley; his sister, Myrtle Ruth Nunley Curtis, and many other family members.
