Dorville Eron Wilemon, 88, of Iuka died Sunday, November 8, 2015
Born in Holcut on Dec. 20, 1926, he left home to be a deckhand and became a tugboat captain nicknamed Hank. He loved running trot lines, growing tomatoes, watching ballgames, taking long walks and making blackberry jelly. He was a member of Hubbard Salem Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cutshall Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitchell McNeece officiating. Interment will follow in Hubbard Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Hardwick Wilemon of Iuka; one daughter, Treva Lee (Tom) of Corinth; two sons, Rex Wilemon (Paula) of Southaven, and Tommy Wilemon of Nashville; a sister, Dorothy Mae Gray of Tishomingo; five grandchildren, Mendy Jane Belue, Lisa Anne Biglane, Brian Scott Belue, James Randle Wilemon and Ashley Brooke Bryant; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Alice Wilemon; a son Tim Allen Wilemon; four sisters, Ethel Wood, Myrtie Thompson, Elaine Burleson and Dorothy Nunley; three brothers, Theron Wilemon, Aaron Wilemon and R.C. "Sonny" Wilemon.
Pallbearers will be Brian Belue, Randy Wilemon, Dustin Bryant, Derick Biglane, Beau Biglane, Steve Graham and Odell Randolph. Honorary pallbearers will be Dellus Helton, Paul Nunley, Cotton Wade, Robert Mayo, Hubert Jourdan, Wayne Helton and Lanny Burleson.
Cutshall Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
