Marie Bascomb, 81, of Glen, Mississippi, died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – East in Memphis, TN. She was of the Baptist Faith, and was saved as a young girl. She attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed the flea market business where she had a booth in Crump, TN, and also enjoyed yard sales. She also enjoyed working in her garden, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Saturday, October 24 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Alvin Meeks and Bro. Jimmy Rich. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jackie Baswell, David Meeks, Keith Amos, Junior Bascomb, Heath Thorne, and Justin Laird. Honorary bearers will be Scotty Little, Steve Little, Chuckie White, Dr. Al Flannery, Charles Borden, Lonnie Bascomb, and Maynard Edge. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her husband, L.V. Bascomb of Glen, MS; 3 sons – Ricky Bascomb (Rebecca) of Burnsville; Greg Bascomb (Kimberly Ann) of Glen; and Joey Bascomb of Glen; 2 daughters – Karen Edge of Booneville and Regina Meeks (Alvin) of Glen; 1 brother – Clarence Essig (Wanda) of Buckner, MO; and 1 brother in law – Don Holt of McRae, AR; 1 sister – Katherine Silva of Rosedale, CA; and 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Clara Smith; her sister, Susie Holt; and her brother in law, Charlie Silva.
